Companionship Care

Having a proactive and healthy social life is important at all ages. Our carers can provide companionship support to bring a smile to our clients’ faces each day.

What is Companionship Care?

We understand the incredible effects that socialising and companionship can have on an older person’s mental health and well-being. Communicating with others can assist in improving mental health, counteract loneliness and can hugely improve a person’s quality of life.

Companionship Care is a great way to compliment an individual’s social interactions with family, friends and the wider community. Our healthcare assistants will not only support you or your loved one with help around the house, food preparation and more, they will also be a social support that can provide meaningful connection and encouragement in maintaining independence and joy.

When might you seek Companionship Care?

Our companionship and homemaking services help to make each day brighter and easier for our clients. Whether you or your loved one require just a few hours of light housekeeping a week, or a full-time arrangement to assist with medications and meal preparation, our services can be tailored to suit your individual requirements. Companionship care varies depending on the individual and we can work with you to find out exactly what you or your loved one needs.

Our Companionship care health care assistants will provide:

  • Conversation and mental stimulation, such as playing games or listening to music
  • Meal prep and time spent together over breakfast, lunch or dinner
  • Light activity, such as a walk or time spent outside
  • Laundry and light housekeeping
  • Grocery shopping and errands
  • Reminders for personal care and grooming
  • Medication reminders

Companionship care is flexible to the needs of our client and we will work with them and their family to ensure the package is comprehensive and fine-tuned. Additional hours can be requested at an additional cost.

Our healthcare assistants are key members of the Comfort Keepers family. They have received comprehensive training and have undergone Garda Vetting and reference confirmation.
