Carer of the Year

It’s soon time for the Comfort Keepers ‘Carer of the Year’ awards! They are being held this Wednesday, 10th December, in Dublin city centre. From 1200 carers, we have narrowed it down to 17 finalists and we will be announcing our four provincial award winners first, followed by the announcement of the overall Carer of the Year winner.

Our awards aim to celebrate the achievements of our best carers, it gives us the opportunity to reward them and to acknowledge their hard work and dedication to the task in hand. Caring is a career that is not for everyone, it requires people with special talents and abilities. If a person has the right attitudes and aptitudes, it can be a very rewarding career, hugely appreciated by the clients and their families. Having an annual awards ceremony gives us, at Comfort Keepers, the opportunity to publicly reward our staff.

Provincial winners and the overall winner receive prizes but that’s not why they do such a good job. They are dedicated to their work, they hugely enjoy making a difference to someone’s life, they revel in working with people, helping others to live independently at home, making a difference to their day. Carers of the year winners have the opportunity to develop their career by promotion to a reviewer or mentor role within Comfort Keepers.

As you will see from the schedule below, there’s lots of time to relax during lunch and most importantly, to celebrate. It also gives the carers and office staff a chance to meet carers from all over the country and get to know each other.
