Interview with Mark Lyden: NMCM Carer of the Year

Mark Lyden is representing the NMCM office in the Comfort Keepers Carer of the Year 2015. From Co. Meath, Mark used to be a watchmaker but on taking on an administrative role within the Alzheimer’s Unit in his area, his employers obviously saw that he was right for a caring role and encouraged him to study for his qualifications which he completed via the local Adult Learning Centre.

NMCM

Mark has been working for Comfort Keepers for eighteen months. He enjoys travelling from client to client for his job, believes he gets on well with his clients, finds it to be a rewarding career and finds two days are never the same. He works two long days in the week, starting at 8am till around 4:30 and then again from 7 to 9:30.

If you believe you would also like to train as a home carer, remember you can complete your training as you work and Comfort Keepers subsidise the cost of the training. Do check our current vacancies and apply. You never know, you might be your office’s Carer of the Year in two years time.
