Comfort Keepers Ireland

What is Arthritis?

Arthritis is an inflammation of the joints that causes pain and immobility, ranging from mild to severe. In Ireland, around 6% of the population is living with arthritis, making it one of the single biggest causes of disability.

There are over 100 types of arthritis, but the most common forms are osteoarthritis (OA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA) (also known as rheumatic arthritis) and fibromyalgia.

While symptoms such as pain, fatigue, and inflammation are common across these conditions, each type of arthritis presents unique challenges.

Despite the variations, the need for arthritis care remains consistent, with patients requiring a combination of emotional, medical, and practical support.

At Comfort Keepers, we provide essential arthritis care tailored to each individual’s needs. Our services include personal care such as washing, dressing, and grooming, along with practical help like shopping and light housework.

Our carers understand the emotional needs of our clients living with arthritis and can offer support and companionship to our clients.

A dedicated clinical manager will meet with you to create a customised care plan, ensuring that support is delivered effectively within your home environment.

For clients with more advanced needs, our comprehensive disability care service ensures they receive the right level of support to maintain comfort and independence.

For personalised arthritis care that improves daily life, Comfort Keepers is here to help. To learn more, contact us or visit Arthritis Ireland for additional resources.
